Leading Telecom Company, a U.S. telecommunications firm with about 10,000 employees, faced the impending end of support for its Oracle E‑Business Suite (EBS) 12.1 and did not have an in‑house database support team. To mitigate support, security, and cost risks, they engaged DatAvail to manage upgrades for their Oracle EBS and Oracle Database environments.
DatAvail upgraded EBS from 12.1 to 12.2.9 and migrated the database from Oracle 12c to 19c, applying PSUs, running ETCC checks, handling Oracle NLS synchronization for Canadian French, and moving to a 19c multitenant architecture. The work was completed quickly and measurably: the EBS upgrade driver ran in 3 hours (vs. up to 12), the full EBS upgrade finished in under 24 hours (vs. the three days allotted), and database upgrade windows fell from 26 to 6 hours across rounds—giving the customer immediate extended support, easier future upgrades, and the ability to update their Linux platform, with DatAvail continuing as their managed services partner.
