The Town of Oakville, a rapidly growing municipality of more than 173,000 residents, faced an inflexible, hard-to-scale Lotus Notes email environment that left IT overburdened while more than 4.5 million email messages needed to be processed and stored. To improve staff communication and reduce administrative strain, the Town engaged DatAvail to transition to a Microsoft-based messaging solution.
DatAvail implemented Exchange Server and integrated email management with the Town’s SharePoint portal, giving about 1,200 users larger mailboxes, reliable remote access, better archiving and enhanced security. As a result, IT spends less time on administration and weekend upgrades, operating costs were reduced, and staff productivity improved through easier access and document management—outcomes delivered by DatAvail’s solution.
