Quick-Serve Café Franchise - Customer Case Study

Quick-Serve Café Franchise, a fast-growing national restaurant brand, was facing scalability and cost pressures as data volumes rose across its franchise network. Its environment included an on-premises Oracle E-Business Suite, cloud HR apps, multiple data marts, Essbase servers, Oracle cloud integrations, and an outdated OBIA/ODI stack, making analytics complex and difficult to manage. DatAvail evaluated the environment and helped identify which systems should move to the cloud and which should remain on-premises, using Oracle Business Intelligence Applications (OBIA) as the foundation.

DatAvail recommended upgrading OBIA to 11g compute and a 12c database, then adopting a hybrid model: keep development on-premises for control, while moving UAT and production to the cloud to better handle traffic spikes and release schedules. These environments were connected to Oracle Analytics Cloud, including Essbase and data visualization tools, giving Quick-Serve Café Franchise a more scalable and flexible analytics setup. The case study does not cite a specific quantitative metric, but it reports improved cloud readiness, better operational alignment, and a practical path forward for scaling analytics without fully giving up on-premises control.
