Major Global Airline Company, one of the largest airlines in the U.S. and worldwide with 80,000 employees and 5,000 daily flights, was running Oracle Database 12c Release 1 and Informatica PowerCenter 10.x but could not fully use 1.8 billion records of transaction history. Aging Oracle infrastructure and sluggish ETL jobs—sometimes exceeding 14 hours—prevented timely, data-driven insights, so the customer engaged DatAvail, an Oracle Platinum Partner, for a BI workflow overhaul.

DatAvail redesigned and optimized the client’s database, ETL, and reporting layers—replacing complex logic with simpler queries, implementing parallel processing, shifting processing to the Informatica server, using Oracle Scheduler, and applying resource optimization techniques. As a result, the airline migrated BI workflows to the cloud, lowered IT total cost of ownership, and cut maximum ETL run times from over 14 hours to 140 minutes (about 2 hours 20 minutes), roughly a sixfold improvement.
