The City of Vaughan, a fast-growing municipality in Southern Ontario, needed to replace an aging, hard-to-search website built on unsupported technology. Departments relied on IT specialists to update content, information was difficult to find, and the city wanted a modern, personalized web experience without blowing the budget. DatAvail was selected to deliver the upgrade on the latest Microsoft SharePoint platform integrated with FastSearch.

DatAvail implemented a SharePoint/FastSearch solution that shifted content ownership to departments and trained more than 200 content authors to publish directly, while carefully managing scope and risk as an early public-sector adopter. The new site delivers personalized profiles and custom home pages, markedly improved search and content organization, greater online interaction and social sharing, and empowered internal users to manage content—outcomes achieved through DatAvail’s disciplined project execution and training.
