Synchronoss - Customer Case Study

Synchronoss, a global provider of cloud activation and device management services for communication service providers, needed a highly scalable system to store and retrieve metadata, SMS, MMS and call‑log data as its customer base grew. Supporting millions of users and some of the world’s largest mobile carriers, the company required a solution that could ingest huge volumes of short messages quickly and scale with rapid growth.

Synchronoss implemented Apache Cassandra via the DataStax Enterprise platform, gaining a real‑time, flexible, continuously available NoSQL store. The deployment (backed by training and on‑the‑job support) absorbed much higher read/write volumes than anticipated, maintained strong performance at scale, and now supports global SMS/MMS/metadata workloads—prompting wider adoption of Cassandra across other business units.
