A DataStax Case Study
qDatum is a Berlin-based, Microsoft Ventures Accelerator-backed platform that lets data providers and consumers distribute, trade and discover raw and aggregate data through a self-service API with built-in security, privacy, access control and monetization. Their challenge was to build a scalable, stable backend and powerful query capabilities without spending excessive time integrating and maintaining multiple tools.
They chose Apache Cassandra via DataStax Enterprise to store feeds, state and activity tracking and use DSE Search (Solr) for advanced queries. DSE’s packaging and support reduced integration overhead, enabling faster development and deployment, more stable search functionality, and a clearer path to adopt additional analytics and management features as the platform grows.
