Mint Bills Simplifies Personal Finances with DataStax

Mint Bills (formerly Check) is a top-rated mobile app used by more than 11 million U.S. consumers to manage and pay bills. As usage and account types exploded, the company outgrew its MySQL backend—facing scalability and real-time performance limits and an inability to provide historical aggregations needed for personalized insights.

Mint Bills migrated account data to Apache Cassandra via DataStax Enterprise, adding seamless Hadoop integration and 24x7 expert support. The 21-node cluster now stores about 15 TB of transactional data, enabling real-time analysis, improved customer experiences, more accurate account insights, and an expanded partner network—capabilities that helped drive the company’s growth and eventual acquisition by Intuit.
