Context360 provides a mobile SDK that captures smartphone sensor and app-usage data to build contextual user profiles and power targeted notifications. The company outgrew its initial Postgres-on-Heroku setup as new apps could add millions of users and massive I/O spikes, creating a scaling and performance bottleneck that an RDBMS couldn’t handle.

Context360 migrated to Apache Cassandra and DataStax Enterprise, leveraging DSE Spark for analytics and DSE Search for real-time segmentation and custom queries. The new platform delivers the high write throughput and predictable scalability they needed, simplifies capacity and replication management with OpsCenter, and requires minimal ongoing maintenance while enabling richer, real‑time user insights.
