Capital One Answers “What’s In Your Wallet?” with Datastax Enterprise

Capital One, a Fortune 500 bank best known for its credit cards and “What’s in your wallet?” ads, needed to move from slow, batch analytics to a near–real-time platform to support same‑day financial decisions. The company required linear, highly available scaling, integration of multiple data sources and reporting tools, rapid time to market for new features, and an SLA of 99.99% uptime.

Capital One deployed DataStax Enterprise (a hardened Apache Cassandra distribution) on AWS with multi‑datacenter replication, tunable consistency, and DSE Search. The six‑node cluster ingested 450 million rows from Oracle, consolidated them to 11.5 million, processed 21,000 transactions/sec while meeting the 99.99% SLA, and enabled products like Auto Navigator—accelerating innovation and driving measurable business value.
