Spartech Corporation, a global producer of engineered thermoplastic materials with more than 38 locations, faced a highly decentralized finance organization after 23 acquisitions and had redundancies and inefficiencies across accounts payable. To support a Finance Shared Services initiative and goals like increased visibility, stronger controls, and reduced data-entry work, Spartech engaged DataServ for a Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) SaaS document and process automation solution.

DataServ implemented a P2P accounts payable automation program—including a Digital Mailroom with 24-hour invoice capture, online workflow, document lifecycle management, training and testing, and AutoVouch auto-matching integrated with Oracle. The DataServ solution enabled a functional Shared Services center, reduced AP headcount from 15 processors to a couple of supervisors and four processors, achieved over 50% of invoices AutoVouch with zero-tolerance matching, improved auditability and vendor support, and lowered document processing costs.
