Rack Room Shoes, a national footwear retailer with roughly 420 stores and 4,000 associates, was dealing with a heavy paper burden: in 2018 they processed about 560,000 invoices, and the final 10% (~56,000 paper invoices) consumed five of nine AP FTEs, filled seven file cabinets, created poor visibility into payables, and made audits slow and risky.
