Global Manufacturing Company had relied on DataServ for a Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) solution for more than six years, using DataServ’s automated workflow for non‑PO invoices and services such as the Digital Mailroom and data integration. When the company attempted to add PO automation via a new e‑procurement vendor, the project scope expanded into downstream AP functions without proper AP vetting, and the new vendor ultimately failed to deliver basic workflow capabilities and three‑way matching, causing delays and deterioration of the P2P process.
DataServ worked with the customer throughout the transition, identified risks, and ultimately the customer scaled back the e‑procurement rollout to PO generation only and reinstalled DataServ’s workflow automation while continuing to use its Digital Mailroom and data integration services. Reinstating DataServ restored automated approval workflows and three‑way matching, eliminated the implementation delays and employee frustration caused by the failed vendor, and returned the organization to timely, accurate invoice processing and stronger AP controls.
