Elmer’s Products, a global $350M maker of adhesives and branded craft and school products, faced a persistent paper problem: despite running SAP and EDI where possible, it still processed a few thousand non‑EDI vendor invoices by hand each month. To fully remove paper from its accounts‑payable process, Elmer’s engaged DataServ and its Purchase to Pay (P2P) offerings, including the Digital Mailroom and the Invoice Processing Machine (SaaS OCR).

DataServ implemented its Digital Mailroom to receive, prep, scan and OCR incoming invoices, feed captured data into SAP via iDocs/EDI/FTP, and route approvals through its SaaS workflow. As a result, Elmer’s eliminated paper AP processing, avoided manual SAP data entry, significantly increased productivity, reduced errors and lost/late invoices, and gained real‑time visibility and month‑end reporting to drive further process improvements.
