Speciality Chemical Company, a global maker of flavors, fragrances and cosmetic actives with operations in 44 countries, faced fragmented process and lab data: process control data lived in large Excel files that took up to 10 minutes to load and only supported one user at a time, while physical property data sat in a separate silo and plant personnel couldn’t tell when lab results were available. dataPARC was engaged to address these data access, sharing and visibility issues using its MDE application and dashboard tools.

dataPARC implemented a two‑phase solution that moved data into a historian via the MDE form, overlaid physical property and process control data for trendable analysis, and deployed dashboards for unit queries and lab sample entry with a visual “available” indicator. The result was immediate: large Excel files were eliminated, data became faster to access and usable by multiple personnel simultaneously, physical property data is trended alongside process data, and supervisors can now measure sample collection and analysis times for improved operational insight.
