Case Study: Amalgamated Sugar reduces production costs and enables data-driven decision-making with dataPARC

A dataPARC Case Study

dataPARC helped reduce production costs by enabling data-driven decision-making

Amalgamated Sugar, the second-largest U.S. sugar beet processor operating across Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, needed better access to plant and lab data to optimize production and reduce costs. Their control system had limited graphics capabilities and a separate home-grown lab system prevented easy comparison of process and lab data, so they engaged dataPARC to improve data visibility using its PARCview visualization tools.

dataPARC deployed PARCview enterprise-wide, integrating roughly 50,000 process tags from DCS/PLC systems and lab systems to provide live trends and graphics at the desktop. The solution enabled staff to create and overlay trends in seconds instead of hours or days, supported enterprise-wide process monitoring and lab data management, and delivered faster, data-driven decision-making that reduced production costs.
