The customer, RSA Group, a large property and casualty insurer, faced the challenge of decommissioning its retired Bradford & Pennine mainframe system while maintaining access to its historical policy and claims data for audit and compliance. They needed to eliminate the high cost of supporting the legacy IBM CICS environment. RSA partnered with DataNovation to address this complex data migration and application retirement project.

DataNovation designed a solution to port the entire history of policy transactions from the IBM mainframe and CICS database. The vendor successfully decommissioned the policy database in just two and a half months and the claims database in only six weeks, all while ensuring user access was maintained throughout the entire process for RSA.
