Sutter Health, one of the nation’s largest healthcare provider networks, needed a way to share protected health information outside its network while meeting HIPAA requirements and controlling costs. It turned to DataMotion SecureMail on-premise to support secure email communications with doctors, insurers, and government agencies.

DataMotion implemented the solution in 29 days, integrating it with Sutter Health’s Microsoft-based environment and Outlook desktop software. About 1,000 of the network’s more than 15,000 users now send secure mail this way, and Sutter Health says the system is simple to maintain, with minimal training and little added burden on its email support staff.
