The City of Green, a northeast Ohio municipality with over 1,500 businesses and 25,000 residents, needed to make its electronic income tax filing easier to use. Its existing system required account creation, had slow logins, and displayed forms that did not match familiar paper versions, while the city also had limited budget and a small Income Tax Division staff of 4. The city worked with DataMotion and InSource Solutions Group to address these issues.

Using DataMotion eForms with InSource eTax, the city moved to fillable PDF tax forms that look like paper forms, calculate tax due automatically, and send data through a “Send Secure” button that encrypts the submission. The process eliminated the need for taxpayer accounts and passwords, reduced time for both taxpayers and staff, increased electronic filing, and ensured all data is encrypted in transit for privacy compliance.
