Case Study: National Football League (NFL) achieves 24/7 global situational awareness with Dataminr Pulse

A Dataminr Case Study

Preview of the National Football League Case Study

National Football League - Customer Case Study

The National Football League (NFL) protects 32 teams, thousands of employees, and venues worldwide through a small Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) intelligence team of seven. Faced with the need to maintain continuous, global situational awareness—made more difficult by COVID-19 remote work and limited staff—the NFL turned to Dataminr and its Dataminr Pulse service to monitor emerging risks in real time.

Dataminr Pulse delivered hyperlocal, real-time alerts from hundreds of thousands of public sources to the GSOC via mobile app and email, enabling split-second decisions and 24/7 visibility beyond the team’s size. Dataminr was the first platform to alert the NFL to the December 25, 2020 Nashville RV bombing—providing early line-of-sight well before major news—and has since helped the league inform stakeholders quickly, sustain continuous monitoring with minimal staffing, and plan international events like the NFL London Games.
