Datamatics helps a large Middle East bank to migrate 400,000 accounts with Enterprise Data Management

Largest Middle East Bank, a leading Islamic bank in Dubai with over AED 300 billion in combined assets after an acquisition, needed to integrate the IT systems and infrastructure of two independently operating banks and migrate five years of historical data. The bank faced scattered data across multiple systems, differing data representations, and more than 4,00,000 customer accounts totaling over 100 terabytes; they engaged Datamatics for enterprise data management, including an IBM DataStage-based migration approach.

Datamatics built a cutover framework, created 600+ ETL jobs, identified 20+ app-to-app and 30+ app-to-EDW migrations, prioritized data by business-criticality, and used IBM DataStage to consolidate data into the DIB EDW—completing the cutover load within two days. The result: successful migration of 4,00,000 accounts and 100+ TB of mixed data, integration finished in under a year with remote execution, 150+ reconciliation control reports, and defect-free migration of critical applications — demonstrating clear, measurable impact by Datamatics.
