Technische Unie handles 180,000 daily scans with Datalogic

Technische Unie (T.U.), a Dutch technical wholesaler and part of Sonepar, required a fast and robust scanning system for its high-volume distribution center. The warehouse outputs 60,000 order lines daily, and employees at 64 working stations perform up to 180,000 scans per day, demanding a highly durable and reliable cordless scanner. To meet this challenge, T.U. selected the PowerScan PM8300 industrial reader from Datalogic.

Datalogic's solution provided a cordless scanner system with strengthened triggers capable of withstanding over 10 million hits and a battery lasting 16 hours. The readers integrated seamlessly with T.U.'s warehouse management system via Datalogic's STAR Cordless System. This implementation resulted in highly efficient inbound, storage, and order picking processes, with real-time scan data enabling accurate tracking of inventory and controlling the routing of goods on conveyor belts throughout the facility.
