Tallink - Customer Case Study

Tallink Group, the Estonian shipping company operating Baltic Sea cruise ferries and shuttle-class vessels, wanted to make onboard shopping on its short Helsinki–Tallinn route faster and more convenient. To reduce long queues that discouraged purchases, Tallink worked with Datalogic and its partner Nixor to introduce a self-shopping experience using Datalogic Joya Touch devices and Shopevolution 7.

Datalogic implemented the Q-Shopping solution, enabling passengers to scan items themselves, review purchases in real time, and pay quickly at self-payment stations or regular counters if they preferred cash. The result was a faster, more enjoyable shopping experience that reduced queue pressure, increased convenience, and freed store associates to focus on other service tasks, helping maximize basket value on board Megastar and Star.
