SPR Packaging, LLC, a Texas-based packaging supplier, needed an automated pallet labeling solution that could support both current and future production needs. The company wanted a system that could integrate with its accounting software and automatic wrapper while improving traceability, labeling accuracy, and order handling efficiency. Datalogic’s barcode reading technology was selected to help address these requirements.

Datalogic implemented a traceability solution using Matrix 410N and Matrix 120 barcode readers, along with printer applicators and PLC integration, to automate pallet identification, labeling, and verification. The system reads pallet codes, manages single and double-stack loads, applies and verifies labels, and automatically routes exceptions to manual printing when needed. The result was easier startup, reliable out-of-the-box performance, improved inventory and shipping accuracy, faster throughput, less manual labor, and an anticipated ROI of less than 12 months.
