Case Study: Dunelm achieves faster, easier fabric measuring with Datalogic Skorpio mobile computers

A Datalogic Case Study

Preview of the Dunelm Case Study

Skorpio™ mobile computers measure up at Dunelm Mill

Dunelm is a leading UK home furnishings retailer with rapid growth and more than 90 stores, and it needed a more reliable, efficient way to support assisted fabric sales in-store. The company had been using older terminals that were becoming unreliable and costly to maintain, creating challenges for its fabric department operations.

Datalogic supplied over 500 Skorpio™ mobile computers through partner Pen Mobile Solutions to streamline the measuring and labeling process in Dunelm’s fabric department. The devices helped staff scan fabric details, enter lengths, and send data wirelessly to printers for barcode labels, improving speed and accuracy while replacing aging equipment. Dunelm said the Skorpio™ units were easy to install, highly reliable, and easier to support, with most issues now handled in-house instead of being sent for repair.
