PUMA runs its warehouse with 70 Datalogic Elf PDAs

PUMA, a leading sport lifestyle company, faced significant challenges managing its large warehouse operations in Salzburg for its Eastern European, African, and Middle Eastern subsidiaries. Their outdated system struggled with the high volume of tasks like picking and inventory management. To address this, PUMA partnered with vendor Datalogic and its partner Barcotec to implement a new automated solution.

Datalogic provided its Elf™ PDA, a robust and efficient handheld device. The solution resulted in real-time data transfer for approximately 100,000 daily transactions, drastically reducing manual ERP entries and saving significant time. Employees, who scan items up to 1000 times daily, praised the device's reliability, light weight, and visual confirmation technology. The success led to the deployment of 70 units in Salzburg, with plans to expand the Datalogic solution to other international locations.
