Case Study: PUMA boosts warehouse efficiency with Datalogic’s Elf™ PDA

A Datalogic Case Study

Preview of the PUMA Case Study

Puma Runs Fast and Sure with the Elf

PUMA, a leading global sport lifestyle company, faced significant challenges managing the enormous inventory volumes at its warehouse in Salzburg, which supports 154 subsidiaries. Their outdated system struggled with operations like stock transfers, picking, and real-time inventory management. To address this, they turned to vendor Datalogic and implemented their Elf™ PDA handheld device.

The Datalogic Elf™ solution provided a robust, efficient system for online data collection. Its key features, including a high-speed scanner, IP64 rating, Green Spot technology, and real-time ERP updates, streamlined warehouse operations. The results were highly positive: 70 Elf™ units now handle about 100,000 daily connections to global locations and approximately 1,000 scans per employee per day, saving significant time, reducing errors, and simplifying central maintenance for PUMA.
