A Datalogic Case Study
Frankfurt-Hahn Airport faced the challenge of achieving a 25-minute flight turnaround time, a critical goal in the airline industry. Handling 3.5 million passengers annually, the airport needed to expedite its check-in and boarding procedures and eliminate errors caused by manual data entry. To solve this, they partnered with vendor Datalogic and implemented their Gryphon GD4400 and D432 Plus 2D bar code readers.
The Datalogic solution automated the reading of 2D bar codes on boarding passes, which drastically sped up passenger processing and improved data accuracy. This allowed the airport to meet its 25-minute turnaround goal, significantly increase customer satisfaction, and enhance security by clearly identifying passengers and their luggage. The implementation also supported the airport's sustainability efforts by reducing paper usage.
