Case Study: Largest Distribution Centre doubles sorting throughput with Datalogic

A Datalogic Case Study

Preview of the Largest Distribution Centre Case Study

One of the largest distribution centres in South America trusts Datalogic to automate itssorting lines

One of South America’s largest distribution groups, operating more than 250 locations across retail and entertainment businesses, needed to modernize its 32,500 m² distribution centre. Its manual sorting process handled up to 6,000 items per hour but caused delays, errors, returns, and losses, so it turned to Datalogic and system integrator Modumaq for a faster, more reliable automation solution.

Datalogic implemented a high-speed sorting system built around two 5-sided omnidirectional reading arcs using Datalogic AV7000 linear cameras, integrated with conveyor belts and warehouse software for real-time traceability and incident management. The solution doubled throughput from 6,000 to 12,000 packages per hour and enabled processing of 60,000 boxes per day, while reducing handling time, errors, returns, and losses.
