The National Blood Service in Russia, a public entity coordinating blood centers nationwide, faced a challenge in creating a unified, automated system for donor and blood data. Previously managed separately by region, this data needed to be consolidated into a single national database to ensure quality control across the entire blood donation and supply cycle. To address this, they worked with vendor Datalogic.

Datalogic, through partner Infotech & Service, implemented its QuickScan I scanners across all workstations. The scanners' imaging technology and Green Spot feedback system streamlined data capture. This allowed all donor and blood data to be automatically entered into a single database, enabling real-time inventory and tracking. According to a department head, the creation of this unified database with Datalogic's solution allowed them to triple the rate of quality blood donations.
