Münster-Osnabrück Airport reaches a 98% baggage scan rate with Datalogic

Münster-Osnabrück Airport faced the challenge of handling a doubling passenger load that necessitated a new, scalable baggage conveyor and sorting system. The airport partnered with Datalogic to implement a high-speed scanning solution to reliably identify baggage and integrate with the new BEUMER autoca® system.

Datalogic's solution utilized a modular scan tower with a combination of their DS8100 and DX8200 omni-directional laser scanners to read baggage labels from all angles. This system, controlled by a Datalogic SC8000 system controller, achieved a 98% scan rate and a throughput of 1,500 pieces of baggage per hour. The modular design allows for future expansion, and the airport reported high reliability and satisfaction with the collaboration.
