A Datalogic Case Study
Mr. Wash, a German car wash and auto service center with 32 locations, faced challenges in tracking services and managing inventory due to its reliance on outdated paper-based processes. To support its high volume of up to 3,000 vehicles per day per location, the company needed a robust solution to optimize operations and control resources. They partnered with vendor Datalogic to implement a new system using automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) technology.
Datalogic's solution utilized Memor mobile computers and PowerScan handheld barcode readers. Employees use the Memor to take orders and print receipts with barcodes, which are then scanned at various service stations to direct work. This streamlined the entire customer service process, improved data accuracy for inventory planning, and made employee training quick and efficient. The measurable impact was a significant increase in operational efficiency, leading Mr. Wash to deploy approximately 80 Memor mobile computers and 120 PowerScan readers across all of its locations.
