JD Sports Fashion and Datalogic ADC Strengthen Their Partnership with the Use of the Skorpio™ Mobile Computer

JD Sports Fashion Plc, the UK’s leading specialist retailer of branded and own-brand sports and fashion wear, needed a more efficient way to automate store operations across its growing retail network. After already using Datalogic mobile computers in its distribution centers, JD Sports turned to Datalogic to find a store management solution, with a focus on improving scanning speed, accuracy, and real-time inventory visibility.

Datalogic recommended the Skorpio™ mobile computer, which JD deployed alongside Cisco WLAN connectivity and managed support from Ensign. The solution enabled inventory tracking, inter-store transfers, price markdowns, assisted selling, and store optimization tasks, while the Green Spot feedback improved scan confirmation and reduced misreads. The rollout was highly successful, with more than 1,300 Datalogic Skorpio devices installed across JD, Bank, and Size stores, helping free up staff time and improve both operational efficiency and the customer experience.
