A Datalogic Case Study
Admenta Italia S.p.A., the Italian holding company managing 162 communal pharmacies, needed to comply with new healthcare tracking laws that required pharmacies to trace pharmaceutical packages using additional bar codes on medicine supplies and prescription pads. Datalogic’s Heron Desk reader was introduced to help pharmacists read both patient and medication codes accurately in a more complex labeling environment.
Datalogic implemented the Heron Desk Farma model, a pharmacy-specific scanner with pre-configured software and Green Spot read confirmation, to capture and concatenate multiple bar codes reliably. The solution improved speed, first-pass read rates, and ease of use, and it helped all 162 Admenta-managed communal pharmacies achieve compliance with the ministerial decree.
