A Datalogic Case Study
The Canal+ Group, a leading provider of premium channels in France, required a new inventory management system for its distribution stores to replace an outdated solution. Their challenge was to find a real-time system that could handle annual inventory checks for decoder and subscriber card stock without requiring a second GSM/GPRS account. After most vendors said it was not feasible, they selected Datalogic and its Memor™ mobile terminal.
Datalogic’s solution used the Memor™, a compact and rugged handheld scanner, to count inventory. Data was transferred via Bluetooth to smartphones and then sent in real-time to a host server using a specific application from Nogema. This allowed for immediate inventory reports to be sent to stores via fax or email. The Canal+ Group was highly satisfied, noting the device was significantly smaller and lighter yet offered much higher performance, with reports received within a minute of the data being sent.
