How improving general reliability and productivity throughput achieves top-notch production standards

HEMARGROUP, a Switzerland-based electronics manufacturing services company, needed to improve production quality and traceability to meet new NATO and medical ISO standards while also reducing warranty, rework, and assembly-error costs. To address this challenge, it worked with Datalogic to deploy a track-and-trace system using industrial 2D imagers, barcode readers, and mobile computers for 100% inspection across production and delivery.

Datalogic, together with its partner ID-Systems AG, implemented the solution in just two days, enabling HEMARGROUP to read and verify small Data Matrix codes at every production step and send data to a centralized ERP system. The result was a 30% reduction in production defects, a 70% cut in rework costs, and a 25% decrease in warranty claims, while improving productivity, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
