Host to post control in Sanpaolo Imi Bank

SANPAOLO IMI Banking Group, one of Italy’s largest banking groups, needed a reliable way to monitor and trace the production of millions of printed customer documents in real time. The company wanted to quickly track documents and pages using linear and 2D codes, verify front/back consistency, catch misprints and duplicates, and keep up with very high-speed printing and inserting operations. Datalogic’s Matrix-2000™ unattended 2D readers were used as part of the solution.

Datalogic, working with integrator HT, implemented a document tracking and tracing system using 46 Matrix-2000™ CCD readers on printing and inserting lines at the Moncalieri facility. The system successfully handled up to 6,000 A4 page sides per minute and 110,000 envelopes per hour, with as many as 130 reads per second combined, while also supporting real-time reporting and production optimization. SANPAOLO IMI used the system to complete multiple quarterly statement runs and a critical annual reporting cycle with complete customer satisfaction.
