Hilti’s New Tracking System Saves Time and Increases Accuracy

The Hilti Group, a manufacturer for the construction industry, faced challenges with accuracy and efficiency in its inventory and product repair tracking. To integrate with their new SAP business system, they partnered with vendor Datalogic to implement a bar coding solution to eliminate manual errors and streamline their processes.

Datalogic, through its partner, provided PowerScan PM8300 readers and Formula Color mobile computers. This solution automated the tracking of products through repair phases and warehouse order picking. The results for Hilti included the elimination of picking errors, a 50% reduction in paper usage and labor, and time savings of half a day per day in order processing, leading to significantly faster customer service.
