The Hilti Group, a world leader in manufacturing for the construction industry, faced a challenge in managing the high volume of service repairs and warehouse orders for its products and spare parts. Seeking to increase accuracy and efficiency, particularly after implementing SAP, Hilti partnered with vendor Datalogic to implement a bar code tracking system.

Datalogic's solution utilized the PowerScan PM8300 reader and Formula Color mobile computers to track products through repair and order picking processes. This implementation saved Hilti a half-day of work daily, cut paper usage and labor in half, and eliminated picking errors, resulting in significantly faster customer delivery and higher quality service.
