Galbusera, the Italian baked goods producer, needed a reliable way to meet food traceability regulations and protect product quality across its supply chain. To address this challenge, Galbusera selected Datalogic and the AGRItrace (Itworks) tracking system, using Datalogic bar code readers and mobile computers to collect data in the factory, warehouse, and distribution centers.

Datalogic implemented an integrated track-and-trace solution connected to Galbusera’s existing AS400 system, using devices such as the Viper RF mobile computer, F725-E/RF, Star-Gate access points, and DS4600 scanner. The system tracks raw materials, production steps, stock levels, expiry dates, and shipments in real time, helping Galbusera ensure food safety, reduce waste from perishable goods, and quickly trace any quality issue back to its source.
