Gryphon and PowerScan Cordless Scanners from Datalogic Streamline Ticket Sales and Access Control at the World War II Museum in Moscow

The World War II Museum of Moscow, part of the Pobeda Memorial Complex in Moscow, needed a better way to manage ticket sales and access control across its main museum and open-air exhibition areas. With a complex mix of ticket types and visitor categories, manual ticket checking was time-consuming, error-prone, and led to inaccurate reporting. Datalogic’s handheld scanning technology, including Gryphon and PowerScan devices, was used to support the museum’s ticketing and entry process.

Datalogic, working through its partners Ticket Soft and Infotech & Service, helped implement a solution that added cordless Gryphon GM4430 imagers for indoor access control and rugged PowerScan PM8300 scanners for outdoor entrances. The new system streamlined ticket sales and reduced the risk of used or invalid tickets being accepted, while improving reporting accuracy so curators could better track who visited what and when. According to the project team, the scanners also helped optimize expenses and deliver efficient, reliable access control for both indoor and outdoor exhibitions.
