Gebroeders Van Beek, a large egg grading and supplier in the Netherlands, faced the challenge of tracking millions of eggs collected from over 200 farms per week to meet stringent traceability demands from retailers and regulators. To address this, they partnered with Ovotrack and vendor Datalogic, utilizing Datalogic's PowerScan PM8300 cordless industrial readers to scan pallet labels upon receipt.

The solution implemented by Datalogic involved scanning pallets with PowerScan PM8300 readers and a DS2100 fixed scanner, integrated via a cordless system, to provide full traceability. This allowed Gebroeders Van Beek to automate the loading of their grading machines, reducing the required staff from six people to one and delivering a clear cost benefit.
