Fontestad, a major citrus fruit handler and distributor, faced challenges in automating operator productivity tracking within its existing production system. Their manual process risked information loss and lacked detailed traceability. Datalogic implemented its Matrix 300N fixed readers, programmable 2D image-based scanners. These devices featured a liquid lens for autofocus, integrated self-adapting lighting to handle ambient changes, and high-speed decoding to free up system resources. The solution integrated seamlessly, allowing Fontestad to unify stock, traceability, production, and productivity control into one automated system. The results included reduced resource usage, real-time process information, and the ability to track operator location and productivity in detail.
