Fontestad Unifies All Its Processes in a Single Automated System

Fontestad, a family-run citrus handling and distribution company, needed to unify its production, traceability, and operator productivity control into a single automated system. While it already had automatic traceability in place, it was still tracking operator productivity manually, creating risk of information loss and limiting visibility across its high-volume operations. Datalogic implemented Matrix 300N fixed readers across Fontestad’s processes to automate barcode reading, improve traceability, and capture operator productivity data in real time. The solution’s autofocus, self-adapting lighting, and fast decoding reduced computer resource usage and overcame ambient-light issues, while also integrating easily with Fontestad’s existing system. As a result, Fontestad now has a unified automated platform for stock, production, traceability, and productivity control, with better operational visibility and labor cost analysis.
