FM Logistic, a logistics provider in Romania, was facing challenges with outdated DOS-based mobile terminals that were difficult to use and lacked modern wireless connectivity. They needed to replace this equipment with mobile computers featuring a Windows Mobile or CE platform and a robust wireless connection. Datalogic implemented its Falcon™ devices, which provided the required Windows platform with a graphic interface, a color touchscreen, and standard 802.11g wireless. The solution also came with a comprehensive service package. The results were significant, including a 40.25% improvement in standard times with portable printers, an 11.78% productivity increase in online inbound picking, and a major rise in inventory record accuracy from 99.18% to 99.93%. Datalogic's solution was so successful that FM Logistic plans to extend its collaboration with the vendor to a global level.
