A Datalogic Case Study

Preview of the Gebroeders Van Beek Case Study

Egg Grader and Supplier Tracks Millions of Eggs with Datalogic’s PowerScan™ Readers

Gebroeders Van Beek, a large Dutch egg supplier, faced the significant challenge of tracking millions of eggs per week to meet strict industry traceability demands. The company needed a system to trace eggs from individual farms through its high-volume grading center to various retailers. To address this, they partnered with Datalogic and implemented a solution using PowerScan™ PM8300 and DS2100 scanners.

The Datalogic solution enabled full traceability by scanning pallet labels at receiving and during the loading process, utilizing cordless and fixed scanners integrated by partner Ovotrack. This allowed Gebroeders Van Beek to efficiently manage recalls for customer safety. The system also delivered a major operational benefit by automating the loading of grading machines, reducing the required manpower from six people to just one, resulting in substantial cost savings.
