DPD - Customer Case Study

DPD, a leading parcel distributor in Germany, faced the challenge of needing to dramatically increase the throughput and efficiency of its Hamburg sortation center. To meet rising package volumes and improve performance, DPD sought an innovative, modular, and omni-directional barcode reading system that could be expanded in the future. They chose to implement the DS8100 super scanner from Datalogic.

Datalogic's solution involved installing multiple DS8100 scanners to create highly redundant and reliable omni-directional reading stations. This implementation more than doubled the system's throughput and saved over one hour of processing time each day. The results allowed DPD to offset geographical disadvantages with faster transportation and provided a future-proof system that their own internal staff could easily maintain, fully meeting all of their demanding requirements.
