Delphi, a major global automotive supplier, needed a robust error-proofing system to deliver sequenced suspension modules just-in-time to a car manufacturer's assembly line. The solution implemented by Datalogic utilized a combination of their Rhino-Net mobile computer, a DS4600A fixed scanner, and rugged PowerScan PM8300 handheld readers to create a scanning audit trail throughout the picking process. This system ensured the correct parts were placed in the correct sequence for delivery. For the car manufacturer, results included reduced line-side storage, more efficient logistics, and lower costs. Datalogic's hardware provided the reliability needed for the harsh environment and future-proofed the investment.
