Datalogic’s Gryphon Imager Takes Care of Patients at Sinai Hospital

LifeBridge Health, a major Baltimore healthcare provider including Sinai Hospital, needed a more efficient and safer way to support patient care at the point of care. The team wanted a handheld barcode scanner that could be easily disinfected and withstand harsh cleaning products to help reduce the risk of hospital-acquired infections, while supporting patient identification and medication verification.

Datalogic’s Gryphon Healthcare imagers, including the Gryphon GBT-4400, were selected to meet those needs. The disinfectant-ready, antimicrobial scanners enabled electronic verification of the Five Patient Rights during medication administration, with features like Green Spot feedback and fast 2D barcode reading improving usability for nurses. More than 800 Gryphon imagers have been deployed across LifeBridge Health, helping the organization expand technology use to improve care quality, safety, and efficiency.
