Case Study: Cerima Cherries boosts traceability and automates box reading with Datalogic

A Datalogic Case Study

Preview of the Cerima Cherries Case Study

Cerima Cherries invests in custom machinery with state-of-the-art technology to assure its traceability and trusts Datalogic

Cerima Cherries, a cherry producer, packager, and exporter, needed to improve traceability and production speed as its volumes grew. With manual data entry and manually operated barcode readers creating bottlenecks and errors, the company turned to Datalogic for a more automated solution using barcode reading technology.

Datalogic implemented reading arches equipped with DS5100 laser scanners and S50N photocells, connected via Ethernet TCP/IP and IDNET networking to read box labels automatically and flag unreadable or misread boxes. The system now controls 100% of production, improves real-time traceability and reverse traceability, speeds pallet classification and order preparation, and has allowed Cerima Cherries to increase the number of boxes processed on each of its four reading lines.
